<itunes:summary>So this week it was just back to Q and I. We thought with all the big Network up fronts (basically FOX, NBC etc showing off to advertisers what is coming this fall) we should talk about our thoughts of some of the upcoming shows. Also we kick things off with the Avengers bill for destroying/saving New York. Sit back turn it up and enjoy the latest episode!

Avengers destruction.

So I was reading this the other day and thought it to be rather humorous as well as an excellent topic to talk about with Q as well as get our fans thoughts. Long story short, the Avengers battle comes to about $160 Billion dollars and is considered an act of God, or as I put it "Puny God".
Boobtube Babble

Its that wonderful time of the year loved (or hated) by TV fans and advertisers - renewal time. This year especially is proving to be a unique as many shows are either getting the axe after 8-9 years or have just run the course and its time to move on. Right now is the time of the year in which most fans like Q and myself hope that some of our beloved shows get picked up (As of this writing FRINGE, Community, Parenthood and others that are our faves made the cut). While advertisers get to start picking out which shows they are going to back financially for ad placement. We chat a little about a few of our picks and touch back an episode not long ago where Q and I made some predictions about what we thought would last and what we thought would fail. Listen in here and tell us your thoughts on what we got right but also tell us if you think we're right again with our latest picks.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on Facebook or twitter via @entfortherest. You can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@CB_Robinson), ShadyTheBiker (@shadythebiker), and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

<itunes:summary>This week we assemble earths mightiest entertainment pundits, well almost mightiest, to take on the challenge of the Avengers. Before we tackle some super heroes we catch up with the crew and play "Name That Movie" (a new game from the mind of 'Q') and talk about our upcoming summer movie picks.

Name That Movie
The crew partakes in a fun game called "Name That Movie". Q toss's out some movie quotes to find out who knows their movies best. I myself did not fair well but my fellow cast mates did a fine job. I personally think Q gave the moderator some easy ones as well as gave Mike some good hints on a couple of his. Find out who wins and find out who ultimately goes home with nothing.
Next stop summer films both bad and good.

Being that the summer movie blockbuster season has begun the crew has taken it upon themselves to help you, our fans, with a guide of what to see and not to see this summer. Find out what the crew thinks of some of the upcoming summer flicks. See if our picks surprise you.
Feature Flick: Earth's mightiest heroes assemble

It's taken 4 years but the greatest movie event has arrived, for both comic book fans and non comic book fans. If your not familiar with this film here's a little back story. At the end credits scene of the first Ironman film Samuel Jackson appears in a quick scene telling Tony Stark about a program called the Avengers initiative. Fast forward 8 different super hero movies later (Thor, Incredible Hulk, Captain America) and we have the Avengers finally assembling into what we felt has set the new standard of comic book films forever (or at least until Avengers 2). Last year the crew touched on some thoughts about this film. In Episode 122 we chat about Captain America and the Marvel Avengers Civil War Series (Here our prediction on how that will tie into the Avengers movies). In Episode 112, before I was part of the show, the crew talked about the acting ability of some of the actors for the Avengers flick (feel free to fast forward to the 47 minute mark to hear that). Since we had a full crew this week we really get a broad perspective of this film.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on Facebook or twitter via @entfortherest. Feature Flick

We kick this week's show off by doing something we haven't done in a long time, a movie review... The Hunger Games (2012). If you haven't heard about the The Hunger Games (Wikipedia), you've been under a rock, it's the first book of three written by Suzanne Collins and takes place after an unknown apocalyptic event. The basic idea... to help keep the peace and to remind citizen of a time that was much worse the leaders pit young men and women against each other in a fight to the death. Nice right! The film stars rising star Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: First Class, Winters Bone), Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks (40-Year old virgin, The Next 3 Days) as well as many others, including a solid performance by Woody Harrelson. Most people probably won't catch the surprisingly good performance by musician Lenny Kravitz, we did. The crew and I took some time to share our thoughts about what was missing in the movie. Listen in to see if we thought the movie held up to what was in the book.
Thief of Thieves
Our resident expert, Mike, helps us out with getting the background on a new AMC show called "The Thief of Thieves". It's a new show based on a comic book. Now you see why we needed Mike's help. As you all know we enjoy us some comics and once again Mike helps us get it right.
Robots and Reboots

Next the crew dives into the world of Robots and Reality TV... this time being brought to us by James Cameron. Cameron will produce a weekly series called RoboGedon, similar to Battle Bots & Robot Wars. Both of those shows featured competitors facing off in a fight to the death against other robots (Kinda got a theme running with this episode). We take some time to talk about Jamie Hyneman's, of Mythbusters fame, Blendo robot and the show RobotWars featuring Grant Imahara's Deadblow. Q and I are looking forward to seeing this show and are hoping they bring back some of these guys whose careers obviously haven't deviated to far from where it all began.

And last but not least its time for another reboot, this time... Short Circuit (1986). A more menacing "Johnny 5" has been proposed by director Tim Hill. Check out the article here. Q is excited about a more "Menacing" Johnny 5 and I'm still crying about another part of my childhood being remade. As Q says I need to get over it, plus he calls me old.

Here is the link to our previous show we referenced. And we would love to hear from you on our Facebook page so leave us a comment or two there.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on Facebook or twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@CB_Robinson), and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

<itunes:summary>Q, Square and Mike return this week to bring you the latest in entertainment news as well as our thoughts on whatever comes to our minds. This week we had some fun chatting about Chipotle, Sony and our favorite money themed movies. And just for the fun of it, we also introduce the world to Squario?

Chipotle vs. McDonald's

The crew talks about a recent article that is coming out talking about how consumers are more inclined to go for a Chipotle Burrito aka "Burrito Pillow" (As noted by SquareRoss) than a McDonalds BBQ Wrap offerings. The crew definitely can confirm that we have a clear winner in our opinion and speak from personal experience on the topic. One of the big moves though by Chipotle was to get "Back to the Basics" as seen here in this commercial that has aired before movies and even during the Grammy's earlier this year. You can see the video here Chipotle "Back to the Basics". If you are feeling nostalgic you can also listen to EftRoU's 5th show, where Q and Na review Chipotle.
The Great SONY restructuring.

So Sony is in the midst of a huge change in the way they do things and run, starting with laying off over 10,000 employee in various areas of the company. The crew talks innovation and whether Sony still can pull off a major comeback like Apple did in the 90's into 2000. The crew talks about all kinds of things relating to the company. Especially the emerging interactive controls coming out for TVs and if that is truly innovative or just a fad?
Speaking of Money...

The crew decided to continue on with the subject of money and discusses some of the best money themed movies and what we like about them. Mike, Q and Square definitely have some interesting picks including Oceans 11 (2001), Brewster's Millions, Wall Street (1987) and some others that you might not expect or have thought of. If you can think of a movie or two that we forgot leave us a comment.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on Facebook or twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@CB_Robinson), and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

This week we welcome Tapeleg from The Rink Podcast to lay some hockey science on us as well as share his entertainment prowess. The regular crew minus Shady are also in studio to discuss a new reality TV show on SyFy called Dream Machines, The TV show Comic Book Men, some NHL Hockey playoffs and Square Ross provides a review of the movie Comic Con.

BoobTube Babble:

As most of you know I love me some reality TV, well TV in general. If you didn't know just check out out my bio on our cast page. Any way we discuss a new show on the SyFy channel called Dream Machines. The conversation changes quickly in to how SyFy has lost it's way.

In addition to Dream Machine we also talk about the AMC show Comic Book Men. During this discussion we learn that Tapeleg has a passion for comics and Mike is a bigger fan of the podcast than the TV show. Listen in and find out what I think of this show.
Video on Demand Review:

If you recall we discussed the documentary Comic Con on last week's show. We are all excited to see this one but so far only Square Ross took the time to rent it and watch. See what he thinks of this movie and find out if you can follow the rat whole we go down. It's lots of fun for all...
NHL Hockey playoffs:

As I mentioned above Tapeleg joined us on this episode to share is expertise as the host of 'The Rink Podcast'. The crew and I share our predictions as to who will win in the first round. We also had some fun to help Square out by making some interesting analogies between Sci-Fi characters and the hockey teams in the playoffs. Let us know if any of these analogies are accurate or helpful.

I also made a reference to Tim Thomas's credit card commercial, check it out by watching below:

The crew is back with everyone but Mike! So it was up to Q, Shady and Myself (SquareRoss) to give you some great entertainment news and our thoughts on: The Descendants, Once Upon a Time possibly influencing some upcoming movie releases, We talk the finale of Alcatraz, Walking Deads new character! and what shows were watching and how amazing Tom Hardy is.

Talking some walkers and a herd
I was corrected tonight that in the ""The Walking Dead" (2010) universe a large group of zombies err..."walkers" is a "herd". The guys chat about the finales new character intro as well as our thoughts on how the graphic novel compared to the TV show from what we've seen.
Descendants Movie Review

Q and Shady recently had the chance to see the movie The Descendants (2011) and share their thoughts on the movie. Plus they discuss if it deserved winning its recent OSCAR for adapted screen play.
Once upon a time influence

The crew touches on the fact that both Mirror Mirror (2012) and Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) both are coming out right along the same time as "Once Upon a Time" (2011) (TV series) will be wrapping up its season. And is a show like this able to influence major Hollywood studios in moving up release dates for shows? Also what do you think of the trailer for Snow white and the Huntsman?
Closing the door on Alcatraz and Tom Hardy as a Villain?

Lastly the crew talks about the finale of "Alcatraz" (2012) and how well done the show is along with some other bits and pieces from warrior and just how freaking amazing Tom Hardy is.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Shady (@ShadyTheBiker), and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

This and that
The crew is back minus Shady who couldn't make it this week, but returning from his hockey nights Mike is back! We kick things off with another cornucopia with bits and pieces from all over. The crew talks some video games as well as rumors of Netflix picking up canceled shows to give them an additional leg up on the competition.
To 3D or not to 3D?
The crew talks/discus's/debates if 3D is good or bad after reading a post which can be found here by Walter Murch. What are your thoughts do you agree or disagree with the crew? Also will some day our only choice be 3D films or will 2D movies still be around?
GOON and HUGO

We touch on the movies GOON and Hugo which just hit DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital release. Whats unique about GOON is how its been marketed and released. Long story short, it wasn't picked up by a major US studio right away and ended up being released over in the UK first. It has made its release on many US outlets in the recent last couple months, now available Online through iTunes, March 28th on HDNet Movies and on March 30th in select theaters. Mike talks about his thoughts on the movie and a little personal hockey history to go along with it. Q and Mike also touch on HUGO and what they thought of the film and the "PSA" it was putting out at least according to Q. This is also Martin Scorsese's first family film.
A little TV chatter

The crew tops of the show with a little bit of TV news and hopefully some insight into the big events of "The Walking Dead", if you haven't seen (Warning Spoilers Ahead) or heard (Warning... Spoilers Ahead) about what happened than you live under a rock as its been spoiled every which way and the other and was already known to happen due to the graphics novel's storyline which the show is taken from.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@cb_robinson), and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

Walking Dead, Movie Trailers, Viral Marketing and more!

So we talked about ruining a show potentially for the fans. If you haven't heard yet on the pre-order page for The Walking Dead Season 2 DVD set a MAJOR spoiler regarding the fate of a character by the end of the season was accidentally (or was it...?) revealed. I think with a show like this its safe to say all bets are off on main characters not dying. IF you want to spoil the surprise death for yourself click here (warning this may enrage you when you find out so don't send us hate mail).

The Crew talks about a lot of Movie Trailers including: MIB 3, Avengers, Prometheus Viral TED Talk video as well as the movie GOON. We also ask ourselves... "do we really need viral marketing in our daily lives?" (Find out who agrees and disagrees)

TV Cancellation rumors

Q & I are huge fans of 2 FOX TV shows that potentially could be facing the axe. If you haven't seen FRINGE or Alcatraz your doing your self a disservice. The reason I say this is both of these shows are very creative and mysterious without having to go over people's heads that aren't into Sci-Fi/Drama. With viewership on the decline for both shows, FOX doesn't see why it should continue producing the shows. Instead they mar replace both shows with something that has a bit more reality (Which seems to be all we have on TV now). I don't have to many shows I enjoy and have dedicated myself to these to shows. I feel losing either of these shows now would be a huge mis-step on FOX's part.
Ghost Rider
So Shady decided to go see Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance this last weekend and we were hoping for a great review from Shady. Why do you ask, well, #1 he's into Motorcycles, #2 he liked the first one, & #3 he wouldn't stop talking about the trailer when it came out a few months ago. Find out his thoughts and opinion of the latest installment from the Ghost Rider franchise.
Billy is back!

I think everyone was re-leaved when the news hit a few months ago that Billy Crystal was indeed going to return to the hosting duties of the OSCARS. I even was more excited when I saw the trailer for the OSCARS called "The Host", which made me feel that this was going to blow away all expectations. We take time to talk about some of the highlights and low lights and all the fun stuff in between plus go over our OSCAR predictions from last weeks episode (if you haven't heard it go here first).

Entertainment Chatter

We kicked off the show this week with talk about the newest celebrity apprentice and our thoughts of some of the cast members. We touch on the announcement about Michael Bay doing yet another Transformers. Including what they could achieve from this Reboot/Sequel that will keep fans happy, even though the third movie concluded the storyline in most fan's opinions. We also started chatting about the upcoming "TRON: Uprising" (2012) animated series that will take place between the first film TRON (1982) & TRON: Legacy (2010).
OSCAR predictions

The crew finally reveals who they think will win the Oscars. This will save you time in not having to watch the show, cause come on we're the final vote in who will win or lose, right. The crew takes time to pick out a few winners and why along with who they would love in their heart of hearts to win. One thing is for sure you might be a bit surprised on what the crews picks!

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@cb_robinson), Shady (@ShadyTheBiker) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

<itunes:summary>This week it's just Q and Square talking Grammy's and some other odds and ends from the entertainment world, including the preview release of Star Trek: The Next Generation on Blu-Ray, The reboot/re-imagining of the Green Arrow character for the new CW Series "Arrow" and more. So kick back and enjoy this episode.

Odds and Ends
So to start things off we talk a little Green Arrow and the CW's new take on it with an upcoming TV series titled appropriately "Arrow". The series is going to go a different direction than they did with Justin Hartley's "Oliver Queen" in fact it's not being produced by the creators of Smallville or featuring any of the actors that were in Smallville (2001). Instead the producers of the Green Lantern (2011) (or as I called it the Green Lanturd awhile back by mistake) will be producing this new series. The show is going to be more Jason Bourne esquie and will star Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Dinah 'Laurel' Lance aka Black Canary and Susanna Thompson playing Moira Queen. Q and I agree this sounds good and are looking forward to seeing this new show.

Space the final frontier....

Recently I got my hands on the newly released Blu-Ray preview of what will sure to be a must have for "Star Trek: The Next Generation"fans. CBS/Paramount recently went into the vaults and masterfully begun the tedious process of restoring all of the TNG (The Next Generation) episodes and sound/audio/effects/etc for the shows anniversary this year. What I'm most impressed with is the quality of this 3 episode set including the Pilot, The award-winning and fan favorite "The Inner Light" and the 2-part "Sins of the Father". I'd have to say this was well worth the $17 I spent. I'm looking forward to seeing more episodes later on this spring/summer from the remastered series.

The Grammys

Q had the opportunity to watch the Grammy awards and see the performances as well as the winners and losers. In fact I think Q is quite smitten with Adele and her vocal talents. I'd have to agree with this as she had me hooked with her previous album 19. This year she swept the Grammy's with her new album 21 which you can find the review here. The show however had a more somber tone than most years as Whitney Houston died a day before the Grammy's. Q talks about other musical acts as well as his thoughts on music in general.

Well that's it for this edition of EftRou, we hope you enjoyed it as always. We would love to have you join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss) or send us an e-mail at heyyouguys@eftrou.com.</itunes:summary>

Whew what a game! Hopefully you like sports cause that's what this episode is all about. Q, Mike, SquareRoss and the return of ShadyTheBiker talk all about the Big Game this last weekend. That's right, football baby! The crew jumps right in to discuss the best and worst ads including many animal related ones which I thought wasn't as good as the rest of the crew. We make some comparisons to last years ads vs this year. Mike and I talk about how much reach some ads have had after the fact, in particular the Best Buy phone technology ad. Which encouraged people to go further after the fact to the brands site (Extended commercial and interviews here).

The crew also tackles some past sports history , Ads from past years, The puppy bowl and the always interesting entertainment that always accompanies the middle of the game.

<itunes:summary>The EftRoU crew returns this week with a new format and some entertainment news and thoughts regarding the Touch Preview event on Fox. Plus the Screen Actors Guild awards, the Pro Bowl for those sports fans listening and last but not least Oscar Nominations and Snubs. Sit back and enjoy as we bring you another great episode.

Touch and Screen Actors Guild Awards
FOX has brought Kiefer Sutherland back to the small screen on with the premiere of his new show titled Touch.

This has been an interesting show to wait for as it puts Sutherland in a role that is literally and completely the opposite of his Jack Bauer character, from the famous 24 series. The show revolves around Martin Bohm (Sutherland) and his 11 year old son Jake Bohm, played by David Mazouz, who is autistic but sees the entire world differently and realizes how everyone and everything is connected. The series is created by Tim Kring of Heroes (2006) & Chicago Hope fame. The show definitely has me hooked but what about the rest of the crew?

Next up was the Screen Screen Actors Guild awards that were on TBS. Q took some time to watch this years show and shares his thoughts with the crew of the highlights as well as his thoughts on the winners and losers. We also take some time to dive into the idea of "do we really need more award shows"? Mike and Q definitely take sides in the matter and I realize I haven't seen nearly as many movies in the last few months as I thought.
The Oscar Nominations
Again the debate rolls onto the nominations and snubs for this years (2012) Oscars. The crew really has some fun with this and making fun of me for not liking Cars 2 (2006) as well as making some bold statements about other animated films from PIXAR.

We talk about some interesting thoughts on what now counts as a performance when an actor has been digitized. We don't make our predictions this week but sure start to get a feel for what might be a winner and losers based on whats happened this awards season.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Mike (@cb_robinson) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

<itunes:summary>Greetings were back in action this week with another jam-packed episode of entertainment goodness! We start with some boobtube babble about J.J. Abrams' next tv adventure Alcatraz then switch to a double feature of red tails and Haywire. Kick back and enjoy this weeks episode!

JJ's next big thing....
So shortly after Alias and LOST hit the airwaves, J.J. Abrams became a household name and Hollywood powerhouse almost overnight. In the last few years he has produced many shows and movies including FRINGE, Person of Interest (Golden Globe winner best new drama) and the 2009 reboot of the once thought dead Star Trek franchise and the fantastic Super 8 this last summer. This latest adventure has us diving into the lore of "Alcatraz" which puts a twist onto one America's most famous prisons. The idea is that Alcatraz never shut down but instead an event occurred that made all the prisoners and staff simply vanish. Fast forward to 2012 and now those same criminals and staff are starting to appear unannounced with no signs of aging or how or why they have come back. The crew chats about what they like and didn't like from the 2 hour premier event.
Feature flicks: Red Tails & Haywire
Q and I both decided to see different flicks this week. Q went with Red Tails, which is the story about the Tuskegee airmen. The story follows the famous fighter pilots' struggle to gain respect and equality from fellow Airmen of the time. The movie showcases how well he Tuskegee airmen did in protecting many valuable bombers during the war. The airmen also proved that they were the best of the best despite what many had said about them. The film stars Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr.,and David Oyelowo.

I choose to go with the latest film from famed director Steven Soderbergh called haywire which has been touted by others as the female version of the Jason Bourne series. Instead this movie is much, much more than that it's a launching pad for MMA fighter Gina Carano's new found fame and potential career in Hollywood. The premise is surrounding a job that Gina's character does for her employer and the state department, covertly of course off the books. As with any thriller the typical betrayal and duplicity are present but not in the same formula as we have seen before. Soderbergh works his magic with flashbacks and scenes woven into the story that give you a sense of history with the various characters. This film has a stellar set of actors that make this even more fun to watch including: Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Channing Tatum and a great as always Michael Fassbender (who has a great bare knuckles fight with Carano).</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>This week the crew is back talking two action movies Killer Elite and Contraband. We had a lot of fun with these movies and make some interesting observations of both movies both good and bad.

DVD Pick
Killer Elite 2011 - We went back and picked up this movie that was released in fall but saved it for a DV-Debrief. This one stars Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Robert De Niro, Dominic Purcell and the lovely Yvonne Strahovski.

This movie is based on a true story of a group of Britain's Elite Special Air Service members coming out of retirement to save De Niro's character, Hunter, from a Sheikh who wants revenge on a secret society that is responsible for killing his 3 sons. Listen in to see what we think as to the some questions that left us scratching our heads (At least Mike and Square).
Feature Flick

Our feature flick this week is Contraband, which stars Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Lukas Haas, Kate Beckinsale and the always fun to watch Giovanni Ribisi. This movie centers around a blue-collar family that happen to be the best smugglers in the business. When Mark Wahlberg's character gets out of the business and try's to make a fresh start his wife's (Kate Beckinsale) brother keeps going with the smuggling and makes a mistake by dumping a "shipment" that was intended to be delivered to mobster Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi). After making the decision to try to fix the problem himself Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) gets his old crew together and the race begins to get $700,000 into the country in order to make things right before it's too late.

We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss) and Mike (@cb_robinson).

<itunes:summary>Sorry for the late in the week post folks, life has been busy for me. Wanted to get this one up before it became a lost EftRou episode. This ones a short one as it was just Q and I. This week we talk about the American adaptation of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". I've seen all the original movies and Q just started off with the Trilogy with this one, it was an interesting discussion. We also talk about the results from the Fall 2011 Media Mogul Fantasy league and crown the winner (virtually of course).

Feature Flick
Many of you may have read or seen the original Swedish versions of the Millennium trilogy which became a critically acclaimed book and movie series around the globe. This typically means that a major US studio is sure to secure the rights and remake/reboot/redo it into an American franchise and ditch most of the source material. However this is not one of those times, in fact I was very surprised with how true to the original the movie stayed. Q although had never read or had been exposed to this prior to the US remake. Listen in and see if you agree with both our takes on this new franchise.

The 2011 remake includes a pretty amazing cast which the title role of the Girl with the Dragon tattoo (Lisbeth Salander) being played by recent new star Rooney Mara The Social Network (2010) and the male lead of Daniel Craig whom plays discredited journalist Mikael Blomkvist. The film also stars Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Stellan Skarsgård and Robin Wright. David Fincher whom helmed some amazing movies in recent years: Fight Club (1999), Se7en (1995), The Social Network (2010). Fincher takes this movie and runs with it but at the same time seems to have done so while staying true to the original novel and movie while putting a unique twist to the storyline that fans of both the book and movie will not expect. The soundtrack has been highly publicized recently as it's not your traditional score that you would find in similar movies. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross create an amazing soundtrack and especially the during the opening sequence that definitely clues you in that the movie you're seeing is not your typical thriller/drama fair. Much like the TRON: Legacy soundtrack done by Daft Punk it's mostly electronic music but done by musicians normally never associated with movies scores. They both do a fine job with this film's score and helping drive parts of the movie through the music.

Definitely a word of warning though for some movie goers. The movie has some very intense scenes that may not sit well for all viewers. Definitely keep this in mind when going to see this. To find out more check out the following link, keep in mind some of the contents of this page do include potential spoilers: Parental Guide

We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

<itunes:summary>Another short one for all of you to enjoy. Tonight its just Q and myself (SquareRoss) as the rest of the crew is wrapping up the holidays. Q & I look back on 2011 topics that caught our eye and look forward and share what we think is going to be some highlights of 2012. Enjoy and as usual share your thoughts with us.

2011 Look Back

So Q & I wanted to kick off 2012 aka Season 3 of EftRou by taking a look back at the highlights of 2011 and sharing with you a few things that stood out for us as interesting moments in entertainment and beyond. Q has some TV/Movie highlights as well as some thoughts about the Live special of American Chopper. I happened to go with my Geekier side talking some video games as well as sharing my thoughts on TV and the business of entertainment, including news that caught a lot of people guard this past year.
2012, To infinity and beyond!

Next up Q and I attempt to prognosticate about what will be the big highlights of 2012, including that pesky end of the world rumor. Q thinks a certain comic book movie will be big. Square plans on seeing a trio of movies including the last Dark Knight Saga movie, A Ridley Scott film and the return to the Shire (Which Q is now on the bandwagon with). I managed to find 2 Movies that cause pause as the fact that Q hasn't heard of either of them. Q thinks he's found the stinker of the year remake movie. Lastly I stick with 1 returning favorite TV show, Fringe and another new one from the mastermind of J.J.Abrams & Company.

We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q) and me SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

Feature Flick

Our feature flick this week sees the return of beloved action hero Ethan Hunt in the fourth installment of the Mission Impossible series which has been very successful over the last 10+ years. In this latest adventure we find ourselves along for the ride with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), Jane (Paula Patton) and IMF Chief Analyst, Brandt (Jeremy Renner) racing against the clock to stop a plan of starting a nuclear war with the US, put in to motion by Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist). The team also faces the challenge of having no help from the IMF division of the US Government after being blamed on the bombing of the Kremlin. The film takes us on a wild ride across the world in and out of some amazing scenes including possibly the craziest stunt to save the day that Ethan Hunt has ever done.

Brad Bird does a great job with his first live action film after having done such great films as UP, The Incredibles and many other animated films and tv shows. J.J. Abbrams (Alias, Lost, Star Trek), Bryan Burk (Lost, Star Trek) return to produce the latest installment of the franchise along side Tom Cruise. After seeing this movie the EftRoU Crew cannot wait for another as this was well paced and had a fun story which has injected new life into this franchise.

Holiday Movies we just can't get enough of.

So we thought it would be good to get the crew to talk about the various films that make the holidays that much more magical and enjoyable with our families. Shady had some interesting picks one of which was a Christmas Story. I picked National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Q went the action movie route with Die Hard. We discuss a bit about each one as well as some others that we think you will enjoy. Let us know if we missed one or share with us what you think using the comment area below.
Feature Flick

This week's pick is Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows the follow-up to the 2009 hit Sherlock Holmes which you can listen to the review Q & Na gave it in a previous episode. Guy Ritchie returns to direct and all the cast from the first film returns. Both Sherlock (Robert Downey Jr) and Watson (Jude Law) have their work cut out for them. This time the villainous Moriarty (Jared Harris) finally makes his move against our two detectives. Joining them on this fun adventure is Watson's new wife Mary (Kelly Reilly) and rising star (Noomi Rapace) as Madam Simza, and not to be forgotten Sherlock's brother Mycroft Holmes (Stephen Fry). As usual we have some great thoughts about this movie, we also compared it heavily to the first film.

Find out what Mike and I thought of each category as well as the upcoming games of 2012.

This year more than ever was a year of some huge games including both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 going head to head for gamers dollars and Gears of War 3 trying to hang in there. In addition the Multiplayer world grew even bigger. Listen in to find out what game ended up taking the Best Shooter of the year and Best Multiplayer award, the results may surprise you

We cover many of the diverse categories sharing our thoughts, like if Best DLC, Best Human Male/Female are even worth having in a game. It’s an interesting discussion given we were actually seeing pixels on the screen vs real humans acting.

Upcoming games for 2012 include: Hitman: Absolution, Mass Effect 3, The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, BioWare's first time taking on a RTS with Command & Conquer: Generals 2. We comment on the long-awaited Diablo 3, Epic's new game called Fortnight and Bioshock: Infinite.

<itunes:summary>This week the EftRou crew takes a trip to retro DVD land and reviews both Caddyshack & Airplane. However before the reviews begin the crew talks about the recent casting announcements surrounding Star Trek 2 and in addition talk about the newest John Carter of Mars trailer. Sit back and enjoy as the we bring you another great episode!

Points of Interest:

The first things we dive into is the latest news surrounding Star Trek 2 and the recent casting announcements of Benicio Del Toro (Snatch), Alice Eve (She's Out of My League) and Peter Weller (RoboCop) joining the returning cast of Star Trek (2009). Rumors have been flying about Benicio taking on the legendary role of Khan portrayed by Ricardo Montalban in an Original Series Episode of Star Trek titled "Space Seed" and then reprising the role in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. We talk about how JJ Abrams and crew should take this approach with such a great Sci-Fi Villain, if at all. The roles of Alice Eve and Peter Weller are still unknown but are said to be major roles in regards to the story. We also touch on the recently released 2nd trailer for John Carter of Mars.
Retro DVD Reviews

We begin the show talking about the comedy Airplane(1980) which chronicles an airplane crew as they take ill while airborne. Sadly the only person able to land the plane is also afraid to fly and happens to be an ex-pilot. The EftRou crew definitely has some strong opinions and thoughts regarding this classic movie starring: Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Leslie Nielsen, Peter Graves and Robert Stack. With an all star cast and some great one liners can this movie still stand the test of time?

Next up was Caddyshack (1980) which is another classic comedy centering around the world of Golf, a posh Golf Course, an Adorable Groundhog, and all the fun that comes with it. This movie features an all-star cast featuring: Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight and Chevy Chase. Again does this classic movie stand up to Shady's and Mike's expectations? In addition we talk about some interesting things of whether or not this might be one of Bill Murray's best roles ever?

We always hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Shady the Biker (@ShadyTheBiker), Mike (@cb_robinson) and me, SquareRoss (@SquareRoss).

<itunes:summary>The gang is back this week minus Shady after the Holiday week. We start off with a few rumors regarding "The Dark Knight Rises" and check in with the "Media Mogul Fantasy" numbers that we picked previously. We figured its been a while since we had ourselves a Cartoon character showdown on EftRoU so this week along with that we have our thoughts on The Muppets which hit theaters last week.

Cartoon Character Showdown:

Our first topic tonight is "Captain Caveman" vs. "The Tasmanian Devil": Both Mike and I (SquareRoss) go head to head in the latest cartoon character showdown. Mike picked Captain Caveman and talks about why Captain Caveman is better than The Tasmanian Devil which is my pick this showdown. We debate and state our case for the best cartoon character, see who ultimately ends up coming out on top! Will it be the Caveman with the Babes or The tornado traveling Tasmanian Devil? Let us know who you think is the better character by leaving a comment below.
Feature Flick:

Our Movie this week is "The Muppets" returning to the big screen and our lives. This latest installment is the first Muppet outing since 1999's "Muppets from Space". The movie features a Trio of fans Gary (Jason Segel), Mary (Amy Adams) and the newest Muppet Walter (Voiced by Peter Linz) who travel to LA for a vacation but instead end up helping the Muppet's save their theater & studios that they used to call home from the Villainous Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) who has alternative plans. As with any of the previous Muppet movie's or TV show's the whole gang is back and funnier than ever. Be ready for some cameos from many top stars, not to be unexpected with a Muppet movie. This one definitely brought out an enlightening and interesting conversation as well as trips down memory lane for the whole cast of EftRoU. If you have some good memories or thoughts you have about seeing the return of the Muppets, leave us a comment or take the conversation to our Facebook Page an tell us your thoughts.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear back from you. Feel free to join the conversation on twitter via @entfortherest you can also find the crew on twitter: Q (@aka_q), Shady the Biker (@ShadyTheBiker), Mike (@cb_robinson) and me, SquareRoss (@daniel_ross).

<itunes:summary>In this episode the crew talks about 2 DVD's: Larry Crowne (Starring Tom Hanks & Juila Roberts) as well as the "epic vampire movie" The Lost Boys.

Larry Crowne just came out a few months ago in theaters and we took the time to catch up with it after it just released on DVD. Larry Crown (Tom Hanks) is the central figure in this story of a man going back to college and at the same time reinventing himself after being laid off from his job a the U-Mart. Along the way he cross's paths with a colorful group of people as well as a "Scooter Gang". During his time he attends classes taught by Mercedes Tainot (Juila Roberts) & Dr. Matsutani (George Takei) who not only teach him academically but also teach him some interesting life lessons along the way with his new-found friends also attending his classes.

Since we figured people needed a good Vampire flick to watch we figured we go back to 1987 and watch The Lost Boys. This movie we all agreed has aged well like a fine wine and definitely is worth watching again or like we talk about the first time as it was in my (SquareRoss) case. This film centers around a family that has relocated to California to make a fresh start after a divorce. No sooner does the family arrive when the older brother Michael (Jason Patric) get into trouble with a local biker gang who is led by David (Kiefer Sutherland) and just so happens to turn out to be a Vampire's! At the same time Michael's younger brother Sam (Corey Haim) makes friends Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) & Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) who are trying to save us all from the impending evil that is the Vampires in this small town. We really enjoyed re-visiting this classic film along with seeing the start to promising careers by this young cast including Kiefer Sutherland who would later go on to be in "24" and many other movies directed by Joel Schumacher who also directed this film.

<itunes:summary>In this weeks show the crew and I talk about the Dr. Who reboot concept, Billy Crystal hosting the Oscars again, the DVD 300 and the this week's feature flick Immortals.

DV-Debreif:

The movie 300 hit the theaters in 2006 and it just may be on its way to being a classic. I'm not fully sure of that but others on the show may think so. 300 stars Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Dominic West, David Wenham and Michael Fassbender. It's about King Leonidas and how he leads an elite group of 300 men to fight the Persians at Thermopylae. It's based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller. Listen in tell us what you think of this DVD, have you seen the extras? Is this a movie worth owning? Tell us why by leaving a comment below or head over to our Facebook page and leave a comment there.
Feature Flick:

We thought it would be fitting to discuss the movie Immortals since we watched the DVD 300. Immortals was produced by the same folks that brought you 300. I guess we thought we could compare the two movies and see which one we liked better. If you saw 300 and liked it you will also like Immortals. The look and feel are similar but the acting by Mickey Rourke in Immortals is phenomenal. This movie takes place in ancient Greece and is about a man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against a ruthless King, who is on a terror to find a bow that can destroy all of humanity. Besides Mickey Rourke you will also find the stars Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, and Freida Pinto. We think you will enjoy this film, it is well worth the effort to go see in the theaters. Tell us what movie you liked better by leaving a comment.

Thanks for stopping by we really do appreciate it.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>In this episode of Entertainment for the Rest of Us Shady the Biker, Square Ross and I discuss the movies A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas and Tower Heist.

Feature Flick #1

First Shady and I discuss the latest Harold and Kumar movie. In this latest film Harold and Kumar get in to a lot of trouble. According to Shady this is a typical Harold and Kumar movie. I haven't seen the other two but I guess I need to. Neil Patrick Harris stars in this one along with Kal Penn and John Cho. Tell us what you think by leaving a comment.
Feature Flick #2

The second film we review and discuss this week is Tower Heist staring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, Michael Peña, and Gabourey Sidibe. This ensemble film is about a group of service workers that find out a wealthy business man, that lives in the building they work at, has stolen money from their pension. Listen in a see what Square Ross and I think of this film. We would love to hear what you think of this film, leave us a comment below so we know.

Thanks again for listening in, don't forget to tell your friends and family about the show.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>So we had some technical difficulties the last couple of weeks. First we had a computer go bad and then we had an application crash on us. So this episode is out late. Thanks for being kind to us and coming back to listening in. For your listening pleasure we discuss the retro DVD Logan's Run and the feature flick In Time.

Retro DV-Debrief :

We thought it would be good to compare the retro DVD Logan's Run to this week's feature flick. Logan's Run is takes place in 2274 and every on can only live until the age of 30. Once you hit the ripe old age of 30 you terminated in a quasi-religious ceremony known as Carousel. There are some that avoid the ceremony and choose to run. Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Richard Jordan star in this movie. Let us know if you think this movie stands the test of time or let us know if you ever liked by leaving us a comment below.
Feature Flick:

As we mentioned before we wanted to compare our retro DVD to this week's Feature Flick, which is In Time. In a future people have been genetically engineered to not age past 25. AS soon as you reach the age of 25 you only get a year to live longer. Justin Timberlake plays Will Salas a man who has been gifted more years than he could ever earn and is now living a life he never had. We get to see how Salas lives his life with time to spend in an adventure he has never been on. Other fine performances in this film include Cillian Murphy, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde and Matt Bomer. Let us know what you think of this film by leaving a comment below.

We hope we have our technical issues figured out so come back later this week to hear another great episode from Entertainment for the Rest of Us.</itunes:summary>

Points of Interest:
Listen in as Mike describes the opening night of the Winnipeg Jets and what it was like to be there. We then address this post on Comic Alliance. We give a lot of credit to these folks for creating content that we just had to talk about. During this segment we mention two other websites that are a must read. One is the one Mike has written for called EatSleepGeek and the other is MajorSpoilers. Check-um out and let us know what you think by leaving a comment.
Catchall:

The new segment that I alluded to above is called EftRoU Media Mogul Fantasy League. We plan on having four seasons each year of the league and the point is to see who know more about media. Each of us will pick from movies, TV shows, video games and new DVDs. During this segment we kicked off with the first two rounds of the Media Mogul draft. In the first round Mike picked The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Shady's pick was Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Square Ross went with The Muppets, and I picked Battlefield 3. Listen in to see what else we pick in round two. We will also post all our other picks in a later plus the results spreadsheet for the world to see. Look for that to come later.
Feature Flick:

The Ides of March stars George Clooney, not only does he star in this movie he also directors it and did some writing. The Ides of March is based on the play "Farragut North" by Beau Willimon. It's about a dreamy campaign staffer for a new presidential candidate who receives a crash course about dirty politics. Other stars in The Ides of March include Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei, Jeffrey Wright and Evan Rachel Wood. Listen in and see what we think of this movie. After you hear our thoughts tell us what you think by leaving a comment.

Thanks again for stopping by and listening to the show. Be sure to tell your friends and family. See you again next week!</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>It was a sad day for us here at Entertainment For the Rest of Us, Mike was home sick nursing a cold, but the troops carried on without him. On this episode of EftRoU the crew brings you another Cartoon Character Showdown between Leader 1 and Optimus Prime as well as a Feature Flick review of Dream House. We also give you an extra review of the movie 50/50.

Cartoon Character Showdown:
For those of you who are new to Cartoon Character Showdown here is how it's done: we choose two cartoon characters and debate which character is better. So Shady the Biker defended Optimus Prime and I defended Leader 1. As a reminder Optimus is the leader of the Transformers and Leader 1 is the leader of the GoBots. Who do you think won? Who should win? Listen in and see what happened. Better yet, tell us who you think should win by leaving a comment.
Feature Flick:

This week we review the movie Dream House staring Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts, and Rachel Weisz. Dream House is about a family that moves into an idyllic home. They soon learn of brutal crimes committed against former residents.
Extra Review:

I took some time to go see 50/50 this weekend as well. Since we had some extra time on the clock I shared my thoughts on this film. 50/50 is based on a real life story of Seth Rogen's friend who beat cancer. It's a comedy/drama centered around a 27-year-old guy who is diagnosed with cancer, and his fight to defeat the disease. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Adam, Seth Rogen as his best friend Kyle, Anna Kendrick as Adam's therapist and Bryce Dallas Howard as Adam's girlfriend. So sit back and enjoy this extra review.

<itunes:summary>Okay this is becoming a habit now. Once again I am late posting this week's episode of Entertainment for the Rest of Us. Sorry folks, I'm just a regular guy and it seems that life is getting in the way of us getting our great thoughts out there about TV, Movies, and everything leisurely. Well I have complained enough, lets talk about the show.

This week we review and discuss the DVD Bridesmaids and in theaters, as of this posting, Moneyball. No points of interest to share but we still have a good time.

DV-Debief:

For those fans of SNL, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy (recent Emmy winner from the CBS TV hit Mike and Molly), we got the DVD for you to go rent; we discuss Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids is a comedy about Annie, played Kristen Wiig, who is picked to be her best friend's maid of honor, broke and not too happy about relationships she tries to fake her way through the pricy and odd rituals of getting married. Since we are a bunch of dudes we really didn't get this movie. So please tell us what we are missing by leaving a comment.
Feature Flick:

If you are looking for a good film to see with great dialog and storytelling then you need to go see Moneyball. The gents and I break this film down and discuss why it is so good. Moneyball is about Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's attempt at building a baseball team on a budget by using science more than experience and gut feel. This movie stars the one and only Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Chris Pratt and Robin Wright. Directed by Bennett Miller and based on the book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" written by Michael Lewis. Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay for this wonderful film. I think it's a must see. If you've seen Moneyball, and you don't think it's a must see tell me why by leaving a comment. Or if you like it tell us why...

Thanks again for stopping by and listening to the show. Be sure to tell your friends and family about us!

Thanks,

<itunes:summary>Okay it's been nearly a week since we recorded this show and I am finally getting it posted. I apologize to the EftRoU crew and listeners for taking so long to get this up. I let work and life get in the way of your entertainment. Just more proof I'm a regular guy. Any who... In this episode we review the DVD Everything Must Go. as well as two feature flicks for you, Contagion and Warrior. Plus our points of view on Eddie Murphy hosting the Oscars and DC Comics New 52.

Points of View:
Have you heard the news yet. Eddie Murphy will be hosing the 84th Academy Awards. The crew and I talk about our thoughts regarding this announcement. See if you agree with us, if you do... great! If not let us know why by leaving a comment. We also discuss DC Comics new 52. For those of you who don't read comics and you would like to see what the talk is about, check it out from the begging. DC is starting all over again, learn more by listening in to the show.
DV-Debrief:

This week's DVD review is about a guy who loses his job on the same day his wife throws him out of his house. The name of this movie is Everything Must Go, starring Will Ferrell. I am telling you now that Ferrell shows his true acting skills in this one, but the story is depressing. Were not saying don't see it, but be ready for a not so funny Ferrell.
Future Flick #1:

Square Ross decided to be different and go see the big name movie Contagion. In this movie there are a ton of big names including but not limited to: Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law and Elliott Gould. Contagion is a thriller centered around the idea of a deadly disease and an international team of Dr.'s that are trying to deal with the outbreak. Let us know if you agree with Square by leaving a comment.
Feature Flick #2

The rest of the crew and I took time out to see the movie Warrior. This movie is about two brother that are fighting to gain everything and lose nothing. When I say they are fighting they are truly fighting in a Mixed Martial Arts tournament that only a few can qualify for. You will find some great performances from Joel Edgerton, Tom Hardy, Nick Nolte, Jennifer Morrison and Kevin Dunn in this movie. After you see this movie let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Thanks again for stopping by... please tell a friend.... until next time... take care and be well!

Retro DV-Debrief:

Have you ever found yourself wondering why Hollywood decides to remake movies from the past. You know the ones that you thought were cool when you were a teen. Well, we decided since there was a new Fright Night we would take a look at the original 1985 version. For those of you who don't know about the Fright Night that came out in the '80 let me tell you a bit a bout it. It was about a teenage boy who learns his next door neighbor is a vampire as soon as he starts telling people about it no one will believe him. It stars Chris Sarandon (as the vampire), William Ragsdale (as the boy next door), Amanda Bearse (as the girlfriend to the boy next door) and Roddy McDowall (as the vampire killer). Listen in as Shady the biker, Mike and I discuss if this movie stood the test of time. You may be surprised about what you hear.
Feature Flicks:

Like I mentioned before Fright Night, the new version, is in theaters now. This time it's about a teenage boy who suspects his new neighbor is a vampire. The plot is not that much different from the first movie. The difference in these two movies is the writing and the performances. In the new modern Fright Night you will find Anton Yelchin (as the boy next door), Colin Farrell (as Jerry the vampire), Toni Collette (as the mother to the boy) and David Tennant (as Peter Vincent the Vampire Slayer). Be sure to listen in to find out what we think of this remake. We would also love to hear what your thoughts, of this newer version. Let us know by leaving a comment below.

The other Feature Flick that was discussed on the show was Conan the Barbarian, not the 1982 version but the one that just came out. Square Ross takes this review on solo style. That's right we sent Square out to the theater all by himself (not really his wife Jess when with him) to view this movie and then report back. According to IMDB this movie is a "... tale of Conan the Cimmerian and his adventures across the continent of Hyboria on a quest to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village." It stars, Jason Mamoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan and Ron Perlman. Enjoy the review...

Thanks again for stopping by. It was great having you here and be sure to catch The Show live. Until next time...

<itunes:summary>This week we have a lot of fun with the nice guys on the show. Both Shady and Square Ross tackle a Cartoon Character Showdown with The Avengers facing off against The Justice League. Then the crew discusses 30 Minutes or Less. But before we get to any of our discussions we touch on some points of interests. Listen in and enjoy.

Points of Interests:
For our long time listeners you know we have our opinions and we are usually very willing share them with the world. But this week we lose it, we share all kinds of thoughts about last weeks show, the new Batman movie, the new Superman movie as well as some TV shows, like Eureka, Firefly, Suits and who knows what else. We have many point of interests int his episode, so please be tolerant of our tangents. If you have a comment to make about our thoughts please feel free to do so below. Here are the links to the stories we discussed provided by EatSleepGeek.com. First look at Catwoman in Dark Knight Rises. First look at Henry Cavil as Superman. Rejects for the new Spiderman.
Cartoon Character Showdown:

In this segment of the show both Mike and I learn that Shady and Square Ross are way to nice. These guys don't really know how to argue a point and it seems like Square just didn't have the heart to take down old-man Shady. The point of this week's Cartoon Character Showdown was to find out who is the better team, The Avengers or the Justice League. For those of you who don't know, these are super teams in both the DC and Marvel universe. Shady defended The Avengers while Square Ross was supporting the Justice League. Listen in to find out how it all went down. Be sure to leave us a comment letting us know where Shady and/or Square Ross went wrong during this segment. All I can say is I can't wait until our next showdown, we expect just as much fun and entertainment.
Feature Flick Review:

Now for something completely different. The feature flick for this week comes to us from Sony Pictures Entertainment, it's called 30 Minutes or Less. This movie stars the one and only Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, Social Network) as well as Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari, Nick Swardson. It's about a down and out pizza delivery guy who gets tangled up with some wannabe criminals. Basically they force him to rob a bank by strapping a bomb to his chest. I'm going to tell you now that this is a short movie and it's not a masterpiece that will make your cry. It may make you laugh but it's hard to tell when you're distracted during the movie. To find out what I'm talking about be sure to listen. And if you have a story you would like to share about your biggest movie distraction leave us a comment.

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to tell all your friends about us. Until next time...</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>This week the crew has some fun talking about apes, monkeys and how smart we are. We discuss the OG 1968 Planet of the Apes as well as the new 2011 Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This is a great episode that will make you laugh as we compare the two ape films and talk a bit about the 2001, Mark Wahlberg, Tim Roth and Helena Bonham Carter, Planet of the Apes. Be sure to click on the play button below or download the show.

Retro DV-Debrief:

For you kids out there that are not familiar with the 1968 version of Planet of the Apes you can rent it from iTunes. But, before you do that, read what it's about: An astronaut air-craft crashes on a planet in the way distant future where intelligent apes are the dominant species, and humans are the ill-treated and enslaved. The movie stars Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall. Listen in a learn what Shady, Square Ross and I think of this classic film.
Feature Flick:

To stick with our ape theme this week we also discussed the new movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes starring James Franco. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is an origin story, where Will Rodman (James Franco) experiments with genetic engineering to save his father (played by John Lithgow) and ends up leading to the development of intelligent apes. Which begins the onset of a war for dominance! (dramatic music plays here) Other great names in this movie include, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox and Tom Felton plus relative newcomer Freida Pinto.

We would love to know what you think of these two movies as well as all the different Planet of the Apes. Tell us what your favorite is, even if it was the TV series. We would love to hear from you, so leave a comment below.

Until next time...

<itunes:summary>Welcome one and all to the movie review site where regular people get together to discuss, well... movies. This week on the podcast the EftRoU Crew discusses Crazy Stupid Love and the Western SciFi Cowboys and Aliens.

Crazy Stupid Love:

For our first feature flick we discuss Crazy Stupid Love a Warner Bros. Pictures starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne More and Emma Stone. Crazy Stupid Love is about Cal (Steve Carell) and Emily (Julianne Moore) who seem to have the perfect life together living the American dream... until one night during dinner Emily asks for a divorce. Now Cal has to navigate the single scene getting a little help from a professional bachelor by the name of Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling).
Cowboys and Aliens

Feature flick number two is a great Western SciFi, that right i said it a Western SciFi, know only as Cowboys and Aliens. This Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Studios movie based on a graphic novel. This movie stars, Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell. It's about a spaceship that arrives in the old west to take over the Earth. The only thing that stand in their way is a posse of cowboys.

<itunes:summary>It looks like you found your way to Entertainment for the Rest of Us, the site where we review everything leisurely. This week the cast and crew tries something a little different. For those of you who are comic book fans this is old news. However for those EftRoU fans that are more of a movie watcher or TV viewer this episode is going to make you think. We discuss the Marvel Civil War, some ComicCon stuff and the movie Captain America.

Points of interest:

So if you didn't know this big festival of sorts that takes place every year in San Diego called ComicCon. Mike (EatSleepGeek.com) goes every year. So the crew thought we would ask him a few questions about his trip. It sounds much different from the one you hear about on Twitter, Facebook and news reports. On a side note EatSleepGeek.com has a new writer (Rob R.), check out his guide to summer conferences.

Catchall:

During the catchall segment most of the crew discusses a classic, okay I don't know if it is classic, story about the Marvel Universe. In this series of comic books we find superhero against superhero, as the government works to get handle on all the super humans out their. It ends up dividing the Marvel Universe and you will want to pick sides. So sit back and enjoy as we discuss this great story.

By the way, please support the arts by going out and buying the trade back of this story. Search around for your local comic book shop and be sure to ask the clerk about the story. See what they think and compare it to what we think. Also feel free to let us know what your thoughts by leaving us comment.
Feature Flick:

Sticking with the comic book theme, this week's feature flick is Captain America: The First Avenger. For those non-comic book readers this movie is about a young man who wants to serve his country and deemed unfit. Finally Steve Rogers gets to volunteer for a secret project that turns him into Captain America. This movie stars; Chris Evans (as Captain America), Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving and Stanley Tucci. Let me tell you, this is a must see film in the theaters, but don't just take my word for it. Listen in to the crew and see what they think. Also be sure to check out the review Jess wrote.

Thanks again for stopping by. Towards the end of the show you hear a reference to our review of Thor and how Mike is concerned about the acting prowess of some starts compare to the others in the upcoming Avengers movie. After you listen to this episode be sure to go back and listen to our discussion for Thor.

Thanks again for stopping by, we really do appreciate you taking the time to listen. Until next time...</itunes:summary>
