Folks… This is just a short post to let you know that the Reality Bytes Podcast will returning soon. Rachael is working with the Candy Corn Productions crew to work out all the logistics. Look for more info soon!
It’s most definitely, probably not right beind you on the wall!!!!!
This past Sunday marked another episode of the Amazing Race 17 and even more glorious examples of what happens with you don’t read the clue. The Road Block in Ghana proved to be too difficult for everyone, except the college accapella singers, who chose the Language Arts option. The shopping channel host team even resorted to drawing circles in the ground around groups of school children. Really? And let’s not forget how many teams didn’t bring back the right amount and type of supplies in the wheel barrows. “Amazingly,” no one went home on this leg and the Father/Son team have to overcome the Speef Bump next week. Phil is too nice sometimes.
Usually, by the end of the first episode, Chris and I choose our horses that we must stick by for the entire race. I chose the Doctors, thinking that they would perform well under pressure. They have yet to demonstrate that skill. Chris chose the Volleyball players and they are comfortably in the middle of the pack at the moment.
The Amazing Race always provides great insight into what can ruin relationships… but also build them stronger. Some people crumble under the pressure and attach each other while others push through it and come out more formidable than when they started.
Until next time… let’s give credit to that mystical decoder ring that was able to appear in plain sight on camera but somehow turn invisible to the Amazing Race teams. Kudos, Decoder… Kudos.

Bolton got booted off my America this week from Dancing With the Stars after a terrible attempt at crawling out of a dog house during his even worse routine with Chelsie Hightower. He was trying to tour while compete on the show and he always seemed grumpy and/or sick. I think it’s for the best. A sidenote: The booing in the audience was not for Sarah Palin. How do I know? The producers of DWTS told me so…….. so it must be true. Right? How does Bristol do that shakey thing? It’s a mystery.Johnson got voted off the Old Tribe on Survivor this week after his inspirational approach left some members inspired to get rid of him. Even though he insisted that he didn’t even want to win the money at the end and that he would help someone else win it big, Johnson seemed to have a target on his back from the beginning. The other men on the tribe were jealous and they did vote off a pretty darn good leader. Good luck Old Ones… you better huddle up.

It was a long 2-hour finale packed with fillers and old clips from the season. Thank goodness for the magic of the DVR… we were able to watch it in a little over an hour. Yee haw. Prince Poppycock came in Fourth, followed by Fighting Gravity and then Jackie Evancho. Michael Grimm won the whole thing and I can’t believe it. I thought for sure that America would vote for the little girl who can sing opera better than Sarah Brightman. WOW. Great finale… pretty good season and Howie Mandel was a great addition to the judging panel. Congrats, Michael Grimm… you were my mom’s favorite.
On a side note, Chris mentioned last night that Michael Grimm was the only one out of the final four to actually stand in the audition line and audition with the crowds for AGT. Chris: Do you wish to elaborate?
It’s over!!! Nooooo!! This is now the official end of summer in the West household. The drama of slop challenges and diary room confessions will have to wait until next year. Right… the winner… Hayden! No big surprise. Lane already said he didn’t really need the money so it’s best that Hayden won the half-million and Lane can play around with 50k. The biggest surprise of the night was America’s Favorite Player Winner. Again, I thought for sure I had called it with Enzo and his funny “Graaaaa-nade” personlity. Nope. Britaney won. BOO! BOO on you Britaney! I did not appreciate her game play or her personality so BOO! Other than that, it was a great finale and Chris and I are already looking forward to next season.
Stay tuned for a Survivor Season Premiere Update and thoughts about Jackie Warner’s THINtervention!
