EftRoU 100: i was your second choice…

Okay boys and girls welcome to episode 100. That’s right we hit a big milestone of show 100. On this episode Mike, the comic dude, joins me to discuss a little something different. I decide to torture Mike and asked him to review ‘For Colored Girls’ and then tried to redeem myself by also asking him to review ‘Just Go With It’.

For Colored Girls

Lionsgate: For Colored Girls

As I mentioned before I decided it would be different to review the DVD ‘For Colored Girls‘. Mike being the professional he is decided he would pacify me and watch it as well. This is a Tyler Perry joint, he wrote it, directed it and produced it. In this movie different women portray one of the characters represented in a collection poems. Each character reveals a different issue that women in general and women of color in particular deal with. Listen in and see how Mike and I disagree on performances given by Kimberly Elise, Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, Thandie Newton, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad. But agree that Whoopi Goldberg makes the movie worth seeing.

Feature Flick

Just Go With It

Sony Pictures: Just Go With It

To lighten the mood a bit I thought it would be good for us to review a nice romantic comedy. So Mike and I went to the theater, not together mind you, to see ‘Just Go With It‘. This fun little film is about a guy who decides to pick up women by wearing a fake wedding ring. Each time he meets a new women he creates a new story, until he finds the one on girl he wants to be with. He then has to create a fake family and enlists his assistant to help out. In this movie you will find performances by Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Brooklyn Decker, Nick Swardson and Nicole Kidman. Listen in and find out what Mike and I think of this film. See if we disagree or not. Be sure to listen closely to find out about Mike’s feelings when it comes to Brooklyn Decker.

Buried Movie

Ryan Reynolds in Lionsgate's Buried

So this week Q drops the ball (pulling a Na) and leaves the review of Buried all to Dano. We get to learn that Q lets sickness get him down and get in the way of watching, renting and reviewing this week’s DV-Debrief. Thank you Dano for being such a trooper and keeping the show alive. Buried, staring Ryan Reynolds (as Paul Conroy), is about a man who is buried with only a cell phone and a lighter. Paul is not ready to die, but when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of how or why he got there, it becomes a hellish struggle for survival.

I said that I would still watch this and try to write a review for the site. So look for a link to that posted review later. When it happens I will try and put a link here so you can get to it easier.

Feature Flick

No Strings Attached

Paramount Pictures - No Strings Attached

During this weeks feature flick segment me and Dano discuss an Ivan Reitman film staring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher called No Strings Attached. No Strings Attached is about a guy and girl who try, I repeat try, to have a sexual relationship with guess what, ‘no strings attached’. We quickly learn that this does not go as well as they hoped it would. Listen in and learn why we both don’t really see this movie as a guy type of film and why there is one scene that is guy’s guy type of scene.

Other Stuff on Show

I also talk a little bit about one of our new cast members, Benn Farrell, adventure in bull riding. Go to Benn’s blog to learn more about the adventure and see the intense exercises that his buddy Kent (former Mr. Colorado) teaches him to help prepare him for the task at hand.

Review of Skyline & Grown Ups

In this episode of EftRoU Shady the Biker joins Q to discuss and review the new DVD ‘Grown Ups‘ staring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek and Maya Rudolph. In this review you get to hear Q and Shady share how much they enjoyed this DVD about a group of guys reliving there childhood memories while bringing their families along.

Review of Skyline

Universal Pictures

Review Grown Ups

Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group

This weeks feature flick is ‘Skyline‘. Be sure to listen in as Q and Shady advise you to stay away from this movie.

Plus in this episode Q takes some time to convince Shady to go see the movie ‘Morning Glory‘ a film he really enjoyed and feels that everyone should see.

where’s shady gone too…

I can’t believe it, no Shady and no Na.  Thank god there are fantastic people in the world like Dano from the hit podcast AndyVsDano.com to help out.

This week Dano and Q discuss two very different films but yet still entertaining.  “Easy A” staring Emma Stone and the movie “The Town” with Mr. triple threat himself (writer, director & actor) Ben Affleck.

Be sure to listen in and leave us a comment to tell us what you think.

Also for all those fans that read this post: check out the following link Ellen Mosaic.  See if you can find the @EntForTheRest Twitter avatar.  If you find it send Q an email telling him where the avatar is and he will send you some Fandago bucks.

Enjoy the listen!
