EftRoU 105: we got guests…

This week on Entertainment for the Rest of Us we got guest! That’s right, we invited Mike Spring editor of DVDSnapshot and Dano’s podcasting partner Andy, from AndyVsDano.com, so join the EftRoU crew as we do our weekly thing and review some movies. The DVD that we discuss in this week’s episode is ‘The Fighter‘ and this week’s feature flick is ‘Limitless‘. Sit back and enjoy!

The Fighter Movie

Paramount Pictures - The Fighter

Don’t ask me why we saved ‘The Fighter‘ until it was on DVD to review it, but we did and we are glad we finally saw this Academy Award winning film. If you don’t know by now what The Fighter is about let me share that with you now. This movie takes a look at the early years of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward and his brother, Dicky Eklund, who helped him train before becoming a big time pro. The Fighter stars Mark Wahlberg as Micky Ward, Christian Bale as Dicky Eklund, Melissa Leo as Alice Ward (Micky and Dicky’s mom) and Amy Adams as Charlene Fleming (Micky’s girlfriend). If you’ve seen this movie in the theaters you need to see it again and you need to view the DVD extra’s, it’s well worth it.

Feature Flick

Limitless movie

Universal Pictures - Limitless

This week’s feature flick comes to you from Universal Pictures, titled ‘Limitless‘. This is a great film to go see in theaters, especially if you are paying matinee prices. ‘Limitless’ is about a writer named Eddie Morgan who is down ‘n’ out and gets rejected by his girlfriend, confirming his belief that he has no future. But, that all vanishes the day an old friend introduces Eddie to a designer drug that makes him super focused and more confident than ever. As a former nobody he begins to rise to the top of the financial world, but serious side-effects begin to put his meteoric rise at risk. ‘Limitless’ stars Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish.

I forgot to mention that Dillon 2.0 is back. For those of you who don’t know Dillon he is our intern that really does nothing other then make an appearance on the show from time to time. It looks like his parents are going to let him come hang out with us now that he has raised in grades. We’re happy to have him back and look forward to his perspective on film, tv and music he is allowed to review.

Enjoy the show,

But only the end bits… Q tried his hand at using the swears and wields them handily, says I.
